Volleyball is a sport played by two teams on a playing court divided by a net. There are different versions available for specific circumstances and purposes. With half a billion organized players in more than 210 countries, volleyball is one of the most widespread sports the world over, and it has had a positive reception in widely differing cultures. BIET JHANSI has always been the leader in providing ample facilities to the students, with no different in volleyball, we have got 3 lavish well developed courts for both men’s and women’s. Walking down to the lanes of history, we have been the prominent champions over the years, bagging the gold medal in the PRABHANJHAN 2K17 and silver in SHAURYOTSAVA 2K18, bringing laurels to the college.
Basketball is like the five fingers on your hand, if you can get them all together, you have a fist, that’s how I want you all to play. BIET Jhansi has a very strong sports culture. It has a very efficient basketball team who participate in different matches in and outside the campus. BIET Jhansi also has an active Sports Committee which looks after the sports infrastructure and activities in the campus. The campus houses 3 basketball courts including the state-of-the-art fully lit wooden basketball court(under FIBA regulations) which is open 24x7. Stands for spectators surround the court, making this the biggest attraction on campus during matches.
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 20-metre (22-yard) pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Cricket is surely one of the most loved sports of the country and the BIET Cricket was formed to nurture this love of the cricket enthusiasts in the institute. With International level pitches, lush green outfield and nets, BIET has one of the best cricketing facilities in the city. With all year round events and activities in the form of Pace, Mixed PRABHANJAN and a lot more, the cricket team keeps the sport lovers active with a combination of fun events and serious sport. Turning the pages of history the students had brought laurels to the college on numerous occasions bagging gold in PRABHANJAN 2K17 and many other awards all across the state.
Football is a team sport played by two teams on 120 yard long and 53 yard wide battle field. Ninety minutes of fright, a game full of might. Football is a game of mistakes whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins. Football is the purest emotion of all. The ecstasy, the passion and enthusiasm, makes it more than just a game, a way of life. Teams lose and teams win, there are emotions in every situation, but football wins, regardless of the results. Facilities are the main ingredient for any sport. BIET Jhansi has already done to set a remark for providing facilities in football. It provides a cherish green ground with all the safety measures for student. This does not end here, the history of BIET is more mesmerizing in the field of sports. BIET never faces the fear of defeat at football ground. It wins the heart not only by snatching Gold in PRABHANJAN'17 and Silver in SHAUROTSAVA'18 but also by effort and passion of players.
Badminton, court game played with lightweight rackets and a shuttlecock. The new sport was definitively launched in 1873 at the Badminton House, Gloucestershire, owned by the Duke of Beaufort. Since 1992, badminton has been an Olympic sport with five events: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles, in which each pair is a man and a woman. BIET JHANSI is lashed with 4 wooden badminton courts, and 3 cemented courts, also we have dedicated badminton courts in every hostel.
Most historians agree that the game of chess was first played in northern India during the Gupta Empire in the 6th century AD, this early type of chess was known as “Chaturanga”, a Sanskrit word for the military. Chess is a board game for two players, it is played in a square board, made of 64 smaller squares, with eight squares on each side. Each player starts with sixteen pieces: eight pawns, two knights, two bishops, two rooks, one queen and one king. Our college has a separate well-constructed room, with proper arrangements for playing chess quietly, with a seating capacity of up-to 40 persons (10 Teams), and all kinds of facilities which is required to play chess, i.e. chess Matts, chess boards, etc. We organize “Chess Inter-Branch Team and Solo (Open to all) Tournaments” under the banner of PACE, and always look forward to make the game feasible so that players can take part and compete.
Athletics is a collection of sporting events that involve competitive running, jumping, throwing on 400 m track and respective event fields. Athletics is backbone of all the sports where an athlete pushes himself beyond his limits to fly high and long. It does not matter who started first but the one who finished, where blood moves as sweat, where millimetre and milliseconds change history. But above all athletic witnesses sportsmanship above winning. BIET Jhansi has a standard 400m track, jumping pit and wide area for throwing events. BIET Jhansi holds a golden history in athletics leaving its mark in UDGHOSH IIT Kanpur in long jump, winning dozens of medal in PRABHANJAN 2k17 and also in SHAUROTSAVA 2k18, Udgosh 2k15.
Carrom is a board game played by 2 or 4 players against each other. The objective of carrom is to put all your carrom pieces before your opponent, using skill, determination and a little bit of luck. It is a scientific game and is based on physics and geometry. It requires thorough knowledge of angles, deftness of touch, keen sight and superlative control of nerves besides mental and physical fitness. It also requires skill and deep concentration. The All India Carrom Federation controls this game in India. The Federation has already organised 144 national championships and hundreds of other tournaments. Carrom runs in the STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTRE which has got 4 carrom boards with sufficient facilities for both men’s and women’s.
Table tennis, sometimes known as "ping pong" is a miniaturized version of outdoor or lawn tennis. A dynamic indoor racquets sport played world-wide; table tennis had an inauspicious beginning. The sport had its origins in England in the late 1800s as a parlour game known as "Whiff Waff," an activity played on dining room tables for recreation. Table tennis is played today in virtually every country of the world, with sanctioned competitions in age group categories ranging from under 10 years of age to 80 years and over. Table tennis is an official Paralympics wheelchair sport. There are men', women', doubles, and mixed doubles categories of play. BIET JHANSI has a separate assigned TT Hall with a huge space to accommodate 3 tables. Every hostel has a common hall, in which a TT table is provided which helps the students to brush up their skills at any time of the day. The college also provides TT racquets and balls which enables uninterrupted practice.
